The last video connection will be used. For example, if you have an HDMI connector plugged into the HDMI port on your hub, then plug into the VGA port with another cable, the VGA connection will be used. If you wanted to use the HDMI connection again, you could unplug the HDMI connector from your hub, then plug it back in.

Which GoPro cameras support HDMI? GoPro HERO Black models from HERO4 to HERO7 feature built-in micro HDMI output. In GoPro HERO 8,9,10, this feature is added to Media Mods. Step 2. Connect the other end of your AV cable to the AV IN jacks (Video/L/R or yellow/white/red ports) on your TV. Likewise, you need to plug all these cords into the interfaces with the same color.
First of all, you need to check what ports are available on your DVD player and TV. For example, if both support HDMI ports, connect them via a HDMI cable. If your DVD player supports analogue (like RCA) only while the TV has HDMI only, then you need to use a RCA to HDMI converter.

This is a very well-built (metal) hub. Unlike my prior hub, which would sometimes require unplugging the hub on the USB-c port of my Mac and replugging it several times to get the HDMI external monitor to work, this one works every time. It does get a little bit warm, but not as much as my prior one. It is able to charge my M1 MacBook Air even using the original 30W charger supplied by Apple. I was worried because the hub takes 15 W, but it still worked. I replaced my 30W Apple charger with a 65W Anker charger that has 3 ports, and can now charge the MacBook, my iPad and iPhone simultaneously. Excellent design, and the inclusion of the short cable inside the unit for remote use is really a differentiator. Great Product!

Before HDMI dominated, Digital Visual Interface (DVI) cables were the best choice for high-quality video transfer. Still widely supported today, almost all projectors feature DVI ports, and a wide variety of computer hardware is also compatible.

Thank you for your great article! I found here all needed informations. Please consider adding the information, that in case of connecting a keyboard (or controller) via traditional MIDI OUT port, the keyboard needs to be powered separately with power cable/power adapter. This might be surprising to those, who got used to USB-powered keyboards, and for any reason decided to switch to using MIDI ports, ordered appropriate cables, but were not aware that MIDI ports would not power up their device. Moreover, most USB-powered controllers are being sold with no traditional power adapter attached (even if still equipped with power plug socket).Cheers!

There are a few possible reasons why the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter might not be compatible with your monitor. There is more than one kind of DVI adapter and the likelihood is the one you have is different to the adapter you are using. For example, you may require space for four analog ports around the flat blade. If your problem is that you have two female or two male connections then the solution is to buy a male-to-female adapter. Cable too small between the two devices? You should be able to hook up your adapter to the screen via a third-party cable. Just make sure it has the correct port type.
You can use the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter to connect a 2016 or later MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports to a Thunderbolt display, but what if you haven't got a Thunderbolt display? To connect to a DVI display you need a USB-C to DVI cable or adapter and Apple doesn't make one. You may be able to find one, but we can't guarantee that it will work as it appears third-party adapters do not work with Macs that have been updated to macOS Sierra and later. Similarly Apple doesn't make a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter, so you won't be able to connect a 2016 or later MacBook Pro to the Apple Cinema Display which uses a Mini Display Port and as such is not compatible with the MacBook Pro.
Now, you can avoid the nuisance of carrying multiple adapters. By consolidating four essential connection ports into one convenient device, the travel dock is the the perfect laptop accessory.
