I have a bug with the quick select stuff. I use a gamepad and when using the d-pad weapon select to change from one thing to another it takes 5 seconds or so to equip the new weapon. In a fire fight when I want to put my rifle away and switch to a shotgun for close range, it's super annoying because there are some enemies that close the gap really fast.
I've encountered problem too, but with over 200 hours it hasn't gotten worse for me. If you're afraid of your weapons not coming out fast enough I suggest switching between them after fast travelling to a location so the game is forced to load them.
Fallout 4 Weapon Switch Delay Fix
But the load times have grown longer and longer, despite the game being played on a fairly powerful rig. But the worst thing I'm getting is this HORRIFIC delay when switching weapons. I went into the Four Leaf Fishpacking Plant and encountered a Legendary ghoul. I ran away and zoned back outside. When I finally arrived I switched to my shotgun. It didn't come to hand. I was stuck, waiting for it, without being able to sprint or run, as I fled from the Legendary ghoul and his four friends (who materialized out of thin air). I was "rescued" by a run in with a band of raiders ambushing a scavenger... at the South Boston Police Dept, which is nearly five blocks away. As I ducked around a building the game finally relented and allowed me to have my shotgun... which I no longer needed.
Have not played in a while, so I'm not 100% sure if it happens at weapons switch, but a lot of times when closing the pipboy, the game autosaves, which causes a very noticable stutter. Could that be it, or is that not happening at weapon switch?
I have this issue when I use hotkeys to change weapons. I'll switch from one to the other and it just takes an insanely long time to come out. I've been in situations with a deathclaw running at me and basically left defenseless because of this lol
The hotkey weapon switch lag is indeed a big minus of the game. When I change weapons I need the new weapon instantly to fight. I cannot judge the reasons of the delay. Often the weapon change happens immediately, sometimes it's up to say 6 to 10 seconds delay. I fortunately never faced a delay of 20 seconds.
Sometimes the game can use up to 30 seconds swapping weapons for reasons, other times its just the animation, no its not about loading the model, i can use gause switch to assault rifle then back to gaus 10 seconds later while standing still and it hangs. accessing the pipboy tend to solve it, at least it freeze time if you get shot at.
This might seem like a small issue, but the mouse wheel is an actual problem for this game. You can accidently switch to the same weapon because there is no delay. This is like the only issue I have with the game on keyboard/mouse
So my actual issue is that after loading a file and playing for 15-20 minutes or so, both my Pipboy and hotkeys begin to respond extremely slowly or not at all. My pipboy can take up to 30 seconds to come up with the game freezing until then. No actual drop in frames on either side of the glitch but the freeze happens everytime. The hotkey switching between weapons happens concurrently with the pipboy issue and usually results in complete inability to switch weapons outside of the pipboy. I've tried various ways to isolate the issue's cause like staying in an exterior cell until it occurs and entering and exiting interior cells to see if that triggers it but no luck at all. Hope somebody can help and thanks!
For weapons and equipment make sure you have depleted ammo weapon switch enabled with a 0 second delay. This only saves you if you burn through all of your ammo in a given gun, but this happens surprisingly often in Warzone. Make sure weapon mount is on toggle, weapon mount movement exit is enabled, and the delay is 0. ADS and equipment behaviour should be on hold.
New sample works the same as first one. I mean weapons sorry for mistake lag appear only when switching(not browsing like scrolling etc) to weapons menu from some other menu, when switching to quests menu or misc menu. Other menus from pipboy works fine opening sell/buy menu also cause freezes but a bit shorter I think quest menu cause longest. With unmodded interface quest menu also cause freezes but its almost invisible other menus don't causes any problems.
Switch Weapon Minimum Delay: Set the minimum time in milliseconds before it is possible to switch weapons again. Low values will help quickly switch weapons twice to cancel actions at the cost of it being more difficult to switch weapons with the mouse wheel. This setting is particularly helpful if you have a very fast scrolling mouse wheel. The trade-off is more about consistency. If the value is too low, you might switch weapon and cancel it. Having a slight delay makes weapon switch more consistent with mouse wheel, but a high delay will make it harder to cancel it.
Weapon Switch Wrap-Around: When enabled, weapons will cycle on a loop when switching through them. When disabled, the next weapon button will switch weapons until you are holding the last equipped weapon with no wrap around, and previous weapon commands will end with your first equipped weapon. This is an option if you prefer Previous Weapon to always grant you your Primary and Next Weapon to grant you your Secondary weapon. Basically, pressing multiple times previous will stop at the first weapon.
Weapon Mount Exit Delay: Sets the amount of milliseconds a directional input must be held before being registered to exit Weapon Mounting. This delay requires that the Weapon Mounting Movement Exit option is set to Enabled. This is particularly useful for players who like to quickly enter and exit Mounting. By default, you need to hold a directional input for a minimum delay before the mounted weapon is detached.
I am on PS4 and my gun is vanished and I cant shoot or anything I cant switch weapons. I was in a Vertibird and i couldnt shoot the behemoth so I loaded a previous save and dont have a gun. the only thing I can do it go to a save from over 7 hours ago which I would very much not like to do.
Everything else (including use of consumables, switching weapons, placing traps, and general abilities) is a standard action. The action type of an attacking ability can be overridden, so these rules may not always apply.
While I have also observed this glitch happening to the MP40 submachine gun, most of the time it seems tied to the STG44 assault rifle. As of right now the only solution is switching to a different weapon, and it might be worth it to avoid the STG until the issue is patched. Raven has already acknowledged (opens in new tab) the issue, so a fix should be incoming.
The weapon's main downside lies in its gradually widening shot pattern: as the user fires successive shots (such as by holding down primary fire or firing before the class cocks the weapon), the shot pattern spreads and only resets when the player stops firing, reloads, or switches to a different weapon. This makes confrontations past close range difficult, and makes successive shots a somewhat less viable strategy.
Nuclear weapons are even more powerful and terrifying than they were in Civilization V. Not only do they kill off some of the Population of the cities they target, they also completely deplete the HP and Defense Strength of any City Centers in the blast radius, making it easy for even the weakest melee attacker to approach and capture a city after a nuclear strike. Just be aware that the fallout in the tile will damage said unit if not taken care of.
In addition to preventing affected tiles from being worked, the fallout left behind by nuclear weapons prevents any Gold or Faith purchasing of units or buildings in districts on those tiles. This means that a few well-placed nukes can completely shut down a city, rendering it and its districts inoperable for several turns and leaving its owner with fewer available resources even if the attacker decides not to capture the city.
The perk Tempered helps you regenerate your maximum health quicker after the gunfight. During an enemy interaction, switching the weapon is always a more intelligent move during an encounter instead of reloading. The Amped perk is critical to switch between your primary weapons fast. 2ff7e9595c
